Award winning funny man Fraser Hooper has been confirmed to head the line-up at this year's Carnivale Of Colours in St Columb's Park.

The event, from 29th - 30th May, will see Hooper, a world renowned performer from New Zealand, give a contemporary flavour of the great silent comedians. His unique brand of visual comedy, based on that of other silent greats such as Harpo Marx, is accessible to all ages and nationalities.

Northwest Circus School Spring Programme

THE NORTH WEST CIRCUS SCHOOL is opening its doors offering a chance to have fun learning JUGGLING, STILT WALKING, FIRE AND UNICYCLE in its unique weekly programme operating out of the Waterside Theatre and the Gasyard Centre.

Following the continued success of last years programme, IN YOUR SPACE will facilitate these classes which focus primarily on enjoyment and giving the chance to learn non academic skills to surprise and amaze!

Skills such as juggling are widely considered to be of benefit in focusing attention, improving co-ordination and relaxing the mind therefore benefiting the participants in their academic studies. These classes also act as a welcome break from school work and don’t rely on ability in other areas. Previous participants have gone on to gain paid work for our company as well as participate in public events like Halloween and St. Patricks Day.

This 10 week course will commence:

Monday 12th April 7.15-8.45pm – Waterside Theatre (16+ Years)

Tuesday 13th April Waterside Theatre 7.15pm-8.45pm (10-16yrs)

Thursday 15th April @ Gasyard Centre: 8pm-9.30pm (10-16yrs)

Gaia Mother Earth

ST. PATRICK'S DAY

In Your Space bring colour and spectacle to this year's St. Patrick's Day carnival celebrations in Derry. Gaia is a fantasy world creation combining elements of myths and legends from Irish folklore and the ancient world. As mother earth sits on her throne amongst the standing stones and fairy tree, the fairies, ladybirds and bumblebees play around her whilst the leprechauns dance a joyful jig.
